Why I Picked It
I spend plenty of time on screens, and when that screen time carries into the evening, I want to be intentional about the light I'm exposing myself to. Evening light exposure can affect the body's normal circadian signals, including melatonin timing. That's why blue-light-blocking glasses are one of the simple tools I use when I'm working, watching TV, or using screens later at night. They're not a substitute for a good sleep routine. I still want a dark, cool environment, a consistent sleep schedule, and time to wind down. I look at these as another simple layer in protecting the environment around my sleep.
How I Use It
When I know I'm going to be on screens later in the evening, I put them on during that screen time rather than waiting until I'm getting into bed.
The PRIME Connection
Before I can Restore, I have to Protect.
Sleep is one of the foundations of recovery and performance. Managing evening light exposure is one small variable I can control to help create a better environment for sleep.
Watus Tip
I don't wait until I'm getting into bed to put them on. If I'm going to use them, I wear them during my evening screen time as part of the transition toward sleep.
